JOSH ANDERSEN

Josh Andersen is an American-Canadian filmmaker, cinematographer, musician, artist, and entrepreneur.

It's hard for me to choose one occupation, when I see so many possibilities and so many directions life can go, even at one time. For the present and foreseeable future, my main focus is on cinematography and filmmaking. Filmmaking is all about creative problem solving, which I find myself doing in every aspect of my life. Cinematography encompasses art, science, and collaboration in a way I haven't experienced from anything else. It's that curiosity that informs my passion for learning and life, and really where I form the basis of my work. I try to shoot the way I see the world. I'm currently working on a documentary about ADHD and the social perception and the influence of the health industry on the trait.

I draw creative influence from great cinematographers like Roger Deakins, Robert Elswit, and Matthew Libatique, as well as other artists - including musicians, painters, and inventors that I follow in my personal life and on social media. Besides film, I use my label Th3rdkind Media to develop other creative endeavors such as character design, clothing, and apps, and in my free time I paint, play music, and write poetry and screenplays.

My most recent projects include He Left Instructions, a short film that is currently making it rounds at festivals, including Atlanta and Sarasota film festivals; and Banging Lanie, a feature film that's currently available to watch on Amazon.
